SUPERSTITIOUS TALE OF THE WICKED - Comr. Ezirim Elvis (President)

The myth of the great old evil spirit in MME has been a story told for decades now. It is said that the evil spirit is the cause for the department's first class starvation. According to the myth, it moves round the school monitoring the scripts of MME students, possessing the lecturers and hence causing the department's scripts to be marked down, not also forgetting the numerous missing scripts caused by the evil spirit.

No wonder the perplexed students of this department keep complaining, some claim to have been "over-prepared" for the course and others do claim to have "over-jacked" while a few others also claim to have reviewed the course "back to back" but yet wondrous result keep appearing on their score sheets.

The vices caused by this evil spirits keep gaining popularity which made students from other department to nickname the department as the "Akpor" department of the school. FACT! I am sure that at least one person has mentioned this to our fresher’s, but don’t worry as this is just a myth formulated by those lazy students who have given their all to sorting.

The truth is “SORTING” does not exist in MME dictionary and so a superstitious tale had to come up to take the place of the truth. But to be on the safe side and to ensure that the myth tormenting MME remains a myth and nothing more, the ZEALOUS NAMMES 2015/2016 EXCOS deemed it fit to host a departmental transformation prayer session tagged “MMETP”. Hopefully, the prayer held the evil spirit bound and it won’t be coming back anytime soon.

My advice to Nigerian Students is to do what is right and stop believing in superstitious tales. Invest your time in doing profitable things and most especially NEVER forget your reasons for being in FUTO. Be ‘ZEALOUS’, be a ‘goal-getter’, and the limitations to what you can achieve will be boundless.

Comrade Ezirim Elvis T. A.

PRESIDENT
